Business & Finance is Scotland 's longest established business to business magazine. Launched in 1974 the magazine is read by over 50,000 of Scotland 's leading business people. The company came to Heriot Trinity to improve their overall online offering. Their existing website didn't match up to the quality and brand values of the print magazine and wasn't generating the business to justify time spent maintaining it.
Trinity Heriot redesigned the website and added extra sections to improve the amount of information offered to the online reader. The current website now contains information on the magazine ( previous articles, the current issue and future editorial ) and facts and figures on advertising opportunities within the magazine and website. Search engine marketing was built into the website to bring targeted users to the website to boost subscription and advertising revenue.
This first phase of development has provided an easily findable online resource which backs up the main business for the company which is the magazine. The second phase of development is to add more dynamic and up-to-date content to the website to make it more of an independent revenue earner for the magazine and to bring the online and offline elements of the company closer together.
