Facebook testing ‘Reactions’ – an extension to the Like button

Facebook has today begun to test a new button called Reaction which is designed to be an extension of the Like button, possibly putting paid to the rumours of a Dislike option. It will give people more ways to share their reactions to a post in a quick and easy way.

They have begun offering Reactions in Ireland and Spain, where people will be able to react to any post across the network – a post from a friend, advertiser, publisher or business. Facebook will roll out the tool to larger markets based on the findings from these test countries.

The social network will use Reactions results to more accurately target relevant and interesting stories to people in their News Feed as they currently do when people Like and Share updates.
